NAI is a rigorous, seven-year pre-college enrichment program designed to prepare low-income neighborhood students for admission to a college or university. My parents immigrated from Guatemala about twenty one years ago and have taught me to embrace and love my roots and where I come from, as well as to always strive to for sucess and overcome every obsticle. My goals are to graduate with a masters in Criminology, Sociologu or Psychology to become a socila worker or to be part of the L.A.P.D. family in order to become a detective to protect peoples’ lives and property while collecting evidence and gathering facts for criminal cases, as well as to follow up with the Southwest mission statetment which states; "To reduce crime and traffic collisions, to provide the highest standard of law enforcement service, and to improve the quality of life in Southwest Area for those we serve and our employees. We will do this in partnership with the community."
